Dr. Julie Chen Livingood grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the Big Apple. She attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City before moving upstate to study at the University of Rochester. There, she received a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Psychology, paving the way to a career in dentistry. In May 2000, Dr. Chen Livingood received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, a direct descendant of the world’s first dental college.

Much of Dr. Chen Livingood’s career has been devoted to providing comprehensive dental care to soldiers in the United States Army in North Carolina and Germany. From this humbling experience she has learned to value dentistry as a profession of duty, integrity and selfless service. Dr. Chen Livingood strives to better serve her patients by staying updated on current developments in dentistry through continuing education. She enjoys taking courses in esthetic restorations that incorporate the latest techniques and materials.

Dr. Chen Livingood resides in Long Beach, with her husband, Philip, who is also a dentist and is currently earning a specialty degree in Endodontics. When the Livingoods are not busy taking care of patients, they enjoy traveling, trail-running, rock-climbing, and entertaining out-of-town guests. Dr. Chen Livingood looks forward to serving Cerritos and its surrounding communities.
